We were asked to design a pathway experience but were restricted by the limitations of a set distance . Our maze concept aimed to maximize and challenge this distance restriction and interwove this into our audience experience.
A maze was thought of in a circular interconnected structure to subvert a linear idea of a path. Each room was designed to disorient the user and their sense of relative direction so that they were unable to keep track of their bearings. The only exit to this maze was decided to be the entrance as well.
These factors would enable us a unique solution to a pathway brief where the experience of the maze was unaffected by a pre-determined length.
